Healing Denture Package
Why Should You Get A Healing Denture?
It takes 9-12 months to heal after extractions. Because your gums and bone shrink drastically an immediate or temporary denture is worn for the first year during the healing process. The immediate denture allows you to come in on the day of surgery with your natural teeth and leave with your new smile.

Remember: When teeth are extracted, getting dentures for the first time is a process - not an event. Because of all the changes in your gums, you will need lots of follow-up care and attention during the healing process, the first 9-12 months. You will need adjustments, relines and eventually a new set of dentures. This is where the Healing Denture Package (HDP) comes in.
What Comes With Our Healing Package?
Immediate or Temporary Denture
Your first set of dentures, called immediate or temporary dentures, will be worn during the healing process after having your teeth extracted.
Relines
As your gums and bone shrink during the healing stage, the denture will become too big. As part of the HDP, two temporary soft liners will be placed and a permanent hard reline. The liners help keep the immediate denture fitting as comfortable as possible.
Adjustments
Wearing a new denture takes some getting used to. Often an adjustment will need to be made to the denture to help buff out any place which may rub and cause discomfort.
Second or Final Denture
After your gums and bone have had ample time to shrink and heal, then it will be time for your second or final denture. New impressions will be made for a new denture.
